DONATION OF CONSTANTINE FORGERY----Donation of Constantine....Purportedly issued by the fourth century Roman Emperor Constantine I, the Donation grants Pope Sylvester I and his successors, as inheritors of St Peter, the dominion over the city of Rome, Italy, and the entire Western Roman Empire, while Constantine would retain imperial authority in the Eastern Roman Empire from his new imperial capital of Constantinople. The text claims that the Donation was Constantine's reward to Sylvester for instructing him in the Christian faith, baptizing him and miraculously curing him of leprosy.----
Donation of Constantine -----On the Forgery of the Alleged Donation of Constantine-----
The Donation of Constantine tells the story of Constantine‘s conversion to Christianity. According to this document, Constantine had contracted leprosy and was advised by his pagan priests to bathe in children’s blood in order to be healed. Constantine didn‘t have the heart to follow through and later that night in a dream Saints Peter and Paul appeared to him. They directed him to Pope Sylvester I who would heal him and then he was to restore the Christian churches and worship the true God. Constantine did as he was instructed, was healed, was baptized , and in thanks he gave as a "deed" the document known as the Donation. Among other things, it acknowledged the supremacy of the See of Rome over earthly thrones as well as the other sees of Antioch, Alexandria, Constantinople, and Jerusalem.
According to that alleged charter, the Roman Fuehrer was owner of the entire Western part of the Roman Empire. That means he possessed -- among others -- countries like, for instance, Spain, Portugal, France, Belgium, Great Britain, Yugoslavia or Germany respectively big parts of those countries that belong to the mentioned ones, today.
The Roman Revolution is a profound and unconventional treatment of a great theme - the fall of the Republic and the decline of freedom in Rome between 60 BC and AD 14, and the rise to power of the greatest of the Roman Emperors, Augustus.
Constantine (273-336 AD) was a Roman emperor who converted to Christianity as a result of a vision during battle, issued edicts of toleration for Christianity that ended centuries of persecution, and called the Council of Nicea to resolve the Arian Controversy. -----
